Biographies
Salvatore Abate
Salvatore studied music in his youth at St. Michael's Choir School in downtown Toronto. He was a choir director and organist for 10 years at 2 Catholic churches in Scarborough before settling in Pickering, Ontario and teaching privately. Sal has a total of 22 years teaching experience. He has a great interest in the arts and enjoys attending theatre, concerts and recitals. Annually Salvatore holds a recital for his and Josie's students to perform for their friends, family and the public in the Pickering area. Salvatore currently enjoys working on Scriabin and Rachmaninoff compositions.
Josie Abate
Josie has studied music since the age of 4 years old. At the
age of 10, Josie was an assistant teacher to Salvatore for 2 years
before she acquired her own student base. She has just graduated
St. Mary's High School (Class of 2010) in Pickering with honours
and will be attending UOIT in the fall. Josie teaches from the
home studio in the evenings. She enjoys all styles and
types of music.
